God of War’s Kratos is back!
It’s rare in the computer game world that a trailer for a forthcoming title will captivate you to the point that you stop what you’re doing, close out the world around you and fully engross yourself into the two odd minutes of teaser trailer glory that is in front of you. However, that is exactly what happens when watching the brand new live action trailer for God of War: Ascension. Dont believe me? Take a look for yourself:
Stunning right? Now I must admit I’m not the biggest God of War gamer, it largely passed me by on the Playstation 2 and it was only until recently that I replayed portions of the first game and I was never fully invested in it to appreciate its full cinematic beauty. However, after watching the outstanding live action trailer, that was released last week, it looks like God of War: Ascension might be one of the hottest games of 2013.
In conjunction with the live action trailer being released, IGN also released a full video showcasing the first thirty minutes of God of War: Ascension gameplay and as predicted it looks jaw dropping. Still don’t believe me again? Have a look:
Told you so! How good does that look? For those unable to spend 30 minutes basking in gaming perfection, first, what’s wrong with you?! Secondly, allow me to give a brief insight into what the video beholds (then go watch it all, loser!). The footage features Kratos taking on a whole host of mythological beasts and demons, in a dazzling array of brutality that has been made famous in past God of War titles.
No other game truly defines the word ‘epic’, but God of War: Ascension once again delivers outstanding visuals with breathtaking cinematic style. Opponents are met with Kratos’ ferocious rage in gloriously violent set pieces that wouldn’t look out of place in a Hollywood blockbuster.
The game is set to be released on 15th March for the PlayStation 3, so there should be plenty more awesome footage to come to whet the appetites of PS3 gamers across the world. I for one will be right at the front of the queue, when the massively anticipated game hits stores next month.
